Thanks to the joint efforts of the Investors Council Secretariat and the USAID Economic Governance Program, within the scope of the new law of Georgia on Entrepreneurs Implementation Monitoring Platform, several recommendations were proposed that would serve as a basis for amendments to the law.

On 1st of March, the Investors Council’s members organized a meeting with the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia’s representatives: Deputy General Director, Mr. Zaza Khundadze; Head of Customs Department, Mr. Zurab Sichinava and Head of International Relations Department, Mr. Samson Uridia.

On 28th of February, a kick-off meeting was held for the project on Digitalization of the Construction Permit and Administration Process for Buildings of Special Importance.

On February 23rd, the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia organized the official launching event of the new information portal (infohub.rs.ge), a digital tax and customs methodology platform.

On 23rd of February, the Investors Council’s Gender Equality and Green Economy Transition working group members met the representatives of the UN Global Compact Network Georgia.

On February 22nd, 2023, the 19th meeting of the Investors Council was held at the Administration of the Government, chaired by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili.

The Investors Council’s scope of activities includes cooperating with the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) in order to support the tourism industry's development process.

The feasibility study for the development of an electronic registry for factoring contracts was launched by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in June 2022.

The Investors Council Secretariat (ICS) continues its successful cooperation with the USAID Economic Governance Program team within the Law on Entrepreneurs (LoE) Implementation Monitoring Platform.

The Investors Council is pleased to announce that two Business Associations joined the Investors Council as non-permanent members.

Investors Council works closely with different stakeholders to develop new financial instruments and products, as well as create respective legislative base and digital infrastructure.

The second meeting of the Green Economy Transition Working Group was held on December 22, which was dedicated to the Sustainable Finance Taxonomy developed by the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

In November 2021, the Gender Equality Working Group has been established, represented by all major business associations and financial institutions in Georgia and is chaired by the Investors Council Secretariat.

On 22nd of November, the Investors Council’s members held an online meeting with Mr. Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development and Mr. Giorgi Gurgenidze, Head of Capital Market Development and Pension Reform Department at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

In October 2022, the ICS established the Green Economy Transition working group. The main objective of the Green Economy Transition working group is to discuss challenges and opportunities related to the Green Economy Transition process in Georgia.

On 17th of November, in “Wyndham Grand Tbilisi” hotel, the Investors Council organized an event to raise awareness on gender equality and women's economic empowerment (WEE) agenda, which was finalized with the declaration signature ceremony.

The Secretariat of the Investors Council (IC) Georgia, supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and funded by the UK Government’s Good Governance Fund, is pleased to announce a call for applications for two non-permanent (rotating) members.

The 18th meeting of the Investors Council chaired by the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili was held at the Government Administration on October 19, 2022.

The Investors Council works closely with the Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) to support business climate development in the science and education sectors.

On 7th of October, the Investors Council Secretariat hosted the Meeting of the Investors Council’s members with the Head of the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring- Mr. Giorgi Misheladze.
