The Investors Council Secretariat (ICS) is established and operates in accordance with the Decree No 829 of the Government of Georgia dated 20 April 2015 and the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Government of Georgia and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) dated 12 April 2015.
The Investors Council Secretariat coordinates the work of the Investors Council, facilitating the relationship between the government and the business community and providing expert economic and legal analysis and advice to support the work and deliberations of the Council. It also supports the meetings of the IC and its working groups.
The Investors Council Secretariat’s staff comprises:
- Head of the IC Secretariat;
- Legal Expert;
- Business Analyst;
- Gender Expert;
- Communications and Office Manager.
Head of Secretariat
Before joining IC Secretariat, Giorgi worked on different high-level positions, both in the public and private sector, including Chief Investment Officer at Wings & Freeman Capital, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Head of Investment Department at JSC Partnership Fund and different positions at Corporate Banking Department of JSC Bank of Georgia.
Giorgi holds a master’s degree in Business Administration, Specialization in Global Management from Grenoble Graduate School of Business (France) and Caucasus Business School (Georgia) Dual MBA Program and Master/bachelor’s degree in international Economic Relations from the Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
George has more than 10 years of experience in legal practice, research and teaching. Prior to joining the IC Secretariat, George served as Commercial Law Adviser of USAID rule of law projects.
He teaches corporate law and governance at the Free University of Tbilisi.
George holds a PhD degree in law from the University of Bremen (Germany).
Communications and Office Manager
Tamar aquires 10 years of experience in Administration. Prior to joining the IC Secretariat, she served as a Consular and Administrative Assisant at the Embassy of Brazil in Tbilisi.
Tamar holds a Master's Degree in International Relations (Ilia State University) and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations (Georgian Technical University).
Giorgi has extensive experience in the field of investments and business management. Before joining IC Secretariat Giorgi served as the head of investment policy and support department at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. Also, Giorgi has experience working in a high-level position in the business sector.
Giorgi holds a Master’s degree in International Business from Barcelona Business School and a Master’s degree in Business Law from Europa Institute, Saarland University.
