One of the objectives of the Investors Council for the current year is cooperation with the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) to support the industry’s recovery following the pandemic and its development process.
On March 4, 2022 the Investors Council’s members organized an online meeting with Ms. Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and Ms. Medea Janiashvili, the Head of GNTA.
Ms. Kvrivishvili provided a comprehensive presentation including statistical information about 2021-2022 tourism sector in Georgia; activities and results of the last year and planned objectives for the current year. According to the data, in terms of the recovery process, Georgia managed to bounce back from Covid-19 induced crisis.
After the presentation the attendees had an opportunity to ask questions and provide their feedback. During the Q&A, the participants discussed how the war in Ukraine could affect Georgia and preliminary contingency measures. As the current situation is vague and the market tendencies are being observed, the Investors Council will have further consultations and meetings as soon as the updated information is available.
