In order to discuss the current FDI challenges and opportunities in Georgia, as well as the impact of Russia’s war on Ukraine on the Georgian economy, the Investors Council members organized a meeting with Mr. Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the representatives of Enterprise Georgia.
The meeting took place on March 23rd and for the first time in a while, it was held in person.
Mr. Irakli Nadareishvili provided information on current economic tendencies and expectations on economic development.
Mr. Mikheil Khidureli reported on Enterprise Georgia’s working plan which includes FDI and Export promotion; as well as upcoming plans to update several support mechanisms to increase its effectiveness. Enterprise Georgia is actively working to attract international investors to Georgia, including companies that are leaving the Russian market due to the current economic sanctions.
The meeting included active Q&A session. IC members outlined existing challenges and suggestions for FDI and Export promotion.
