Online Business Guidance for Small and Medium Enterprises in Georgia

On 8th of October 2021 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), with financial support from the United Kingdom’s Good Governance Fund (GGF), launched Online Platform https://businessguide.ebrd.ge/ that offers legal and business guidance for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

The Launch Webinar was organized by the EBRD together with the GGF, Investors Council Secretariat, Enterprise Georgia, Caissa Law and Lightspeed Digital.

The event was opened by EBRD Regional Director for the Caucasus Mrs. Catarina Bjorlin Hansen, followed by the welcoming speeches from Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Georgia Ms. Clare Allbless, Deputy CEO of Enterprise Georgia Mr. Tornike Zirakishvili and Head of the Investors Council Secretariat Mr. Giorgi Cherkezishvili.  

The new website offers expert guidance to help owners and managers of Georgian MSMEs to deal with financial challenges. The website contains useful tools to digitalize businesses and to navigate a restructuring process, provides businesses with legal guidance in areas where small firms have a strong demand for know-how and information.

To produce the guidance for Georgian businesses, the EBRD team worked closely with the Investors Council Secretariat, representatives of Enterprise Georgia, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
