On the 5th of December, the 6th Annual Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Conference was held, jointly organized by the UN Women Georgia and the Investors Council. The topic of this year’s conference was related to “Gender-Lens Investing”. The event was attended by representatives of the business and donor community, financial institutions, government agencies and angel investors.
The opening remarks were delivered by Kaori Ishikawa, UN Women Country Representative in Georgia and Liaison for the South Caucasus; H.E. Bergljot Hovland, Ambassador of Norway to Georgia; Giorgi Cherkezishvili, Head of the Investors Council Secretariat; Avtandil Kasradze, Chairman of Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency; and Irakli Gabriadze, Deputy CEO at Enterprise Georgia.
The conference showcased compelling topics around gender-lens investing and gender equality. Women represent a significant and growing market segment. Therefore, ensuring gender-lens investing and promoting gender equality contributes to social and economic progress, fostering a more inclusive future.
