The second meeting of the Green Economy Transition Working Group

22 Dec 2022

The second meeting of the Green Economy Transition Working Group was held on December 22, which was dedicated to the Sustainable Finance Taxonomy developed by the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

Sustainable Finance Taxonomy serves as a tool to help investors define whether an economic activity is environmentally sound and navigate the transition towards low-carbon economy. Taxonomy developed by the National Bank of Georgia brings together investors, policy makers and financial institutions to ensure that investments are meeting robust environmental standards and are consistent with high-level policy commitments such as Paris Agreement.

Guest speaker, Ms. Salome Tvalodze – Head of Sustainable Finance Division at the NBG, provided detailed information about the Sustainable Finance Frameworks, regulations and ESG risk management.

The presentation was followed by a discussion and a Q&A session.
